Global Connections and Shared Traditions: ICF at the 2026 ACA National Conference
The International Camping Fellowship (ICF) was thrilled to bring a global perspective to the 2026 ACA National Conference in San Diego! This year, we moved our home base to the main lobby near the bookstore, providing better access and extended hours to connect with friends old and new.
From cultural exchanges to sneak peeks at future congresses, our presence was a testament to the power of the global camp community.
A Home Away from Home
Our Hospitality Room, expertly managed by Cheryl Gans and Robert Qian, served as the central hub for our international guests. It was a space for meaningful conversation, networking, and a quiet moment of connection amidst the conference excitement.
Play and Song: The Universal Language
A massive “Thank You” to everyone who joined us for the International Song & Games workshop! Under the energetic leadership of Robert Tsien and Cheryl Foree Gans, we saw firsthand how play transcends borders. There’s no better way to build community than through the shared joy of a new game or a traditional camp song.

Celebrating Our Global Delegates
One of the week’s true highlights was the reception honoring our international delegates. We were proud to represent a diverse cohort from:

- Europe: Germany, Scotland, Spain
- Middle East/Asia: China, Israel, Japan, Taiwan, Turkey, Uzbekistan
- Oceania: Australia
It was a privilege to have ACA CEO Henry DeHart and Board Chair Steve Baskins join us to honor these delegates, reinforcing the strong bond between our organizations.
